I purchased this mold to make chocolate bars for my children. They would rather have Hershey's chocolate bars though. So it only got one use for candy.I stored it away, thinking it would never see the light of day again. Then one day while making CP soap, I wanted to make small but cute bars and I just didn't have any small molds. All I have are loaf molds. Then I remembered this mold tray. It worked perfectly! I used a pipette to fill in the raised portions with green tea soap and then filled in the rest of the mold with goats milk soap. It looked so nice!Now I always make one tray (4 bars) of test soap with this mold when I formulate a new recipe. Who wants to make a 12lb loaf of soap without testing it first. Not me! This is perfect.

The picture can be a bit misleading. The mold is made of clear plastic that is study on a surface but if you need to move it around it could be problematic. It stated that this mold could be used for soaps, edible stuff like chocolate and even plaster. However, the mold is thin, about .25 of an inch. .5 of an inch would be far better in my opinion. The mold releases easily and is easy to clean up. Being plastic, I question the durability for any lengthy period of use. If you are careful with it, it can last however, rough handling will shorten its life.
